Daniel is the Research Manager for the Precision Agriculture for Development (PAD) project, based in Busia, Kenya. PAD aims to provide smallholder maize farmers with personalized agricultural information and advice via SMS and voice messaging. He earned SB degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in mathematics and physics and earned MS degrees in International Agricultural Development and Agriculture & Resource Economics at University of California, Davis. He was a science teacher in Maktau, Kenya with the Peace Corps, lead organizer for the International Development Design Summit in Arusha, Tanzania in 2014 and co-founded the Twende Social Innovation Center there. He was also Director of Research for Essmart Global in India.
