On September 28, IPA and J-PAL co-hosted a dissemination event titled "Deciding for a Better Future" (DFM) in Lima, Peru. DFM refers to an intervention to combat school dropout and child labor and promote secondary and higher education, designed and evaluated through collaboration between IPA, J-PAL, MineduLAB, the United States Department of Labor*, and researchers from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, Princeton University, and Universidad del Pacífico. During the event, researcher Christopher Neilson presented the results of DFM in the reduction of school dropout and child labor, among other impacts of high interest for policy design. This intervention is being scaled up by MineduLAB, starting with incorporating 2,000 schools in the full school day system.
