This page lists survey instruments that are being developed by IPA and others to learn more about responses to and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to make questionnaires available to a wide audience to allow researchers to harmonize language, item format, response options, and other features in order for make data more comparable across studies. To support this effort, IPA encourages research teams to use the RECOVR survey and the COVID-19 Economic Impact Survey instruments, listed directly below.

This repository is also meant to provide a starting point for those who are new to these topics or survey modes (phone, SMS, web, etc.). We are seeking to include not just reader-friendly documents with the survey questions, but also coded forms and supporting documents such as field training manuals and protocols, as well as technical reports.

This is not an exhaustive list, but topics can include public health response, access to health resources, norms and attitudes related to COVID-19, economic impact of containment policies, or distance learning. The repository may be expanded in the future to be a general questionnaire repository and individual item bank on any topic or survey mode. If you would like to submit a COVID-19-related questionnaire that is for research in the public good (not for commercial purposes), please fill out this Google Form or contact IPA's Global Data & Research Support (GRDS) team. Comments and suggestions about this repository can be sent to that same address.

<p>In 2019, Uganda imposed Africa’s strictest lockdown measures in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, closing businesses and schools, and banning sales of non-food items at open markets, public gatherings, and the use of vehicles for non-essential purposes.This work builds on two previously implemented RCTs of&nbsp;the Educate! Experience&nbsp;and Skills for Effective Entrepreneurship Development (SEED) program and will shed light on the impacts of COVID-19 on young people in Uganda.Educate! Experience and Skills for Effective Entrepreneurship Development (SEED) are two distinct yet complementary youth leadership and entrepreneurship programs that feature different combinations/intensities of soft and hard skills training.</p>

Round 2 Phone Survey | Gender and Adolescence: The Impact of COVID-19 on Economic Aspirations and Outcomes of Bangladeshi Adolescents

<p>IPA, George Washington University, and Gender and Adolescence: Global Evidence (GAGE) researchers have been implementing a study with Bangladeshi adolescents since 2017 to understand both transitions to adulthood and ‘what works’ to improve their transitions to adulthood.&nbsp;COVID-19 may affect their education, skills acquisition, and job prospects by limiting access to education, disrupting household income, increasing stress and exposure to violence, and shifting household and care work onto them.Researchers administered a phone&nbsp;survey&nbsp;to 4,485 adolescents in May 2020, when Bangladesh was under a country-wide lockdown.</p>

Survey - COVID-19 and the Lives of Female Workers in the Readymade Garment Sector

<p>The ready-made garment (RMG) sector in Bangladesh is the main source of formal wage employment for women that constitute a majority of its 4 million workers.The sector has been instrumental in increasing women’s labour force participation in Bangladesh.Demand-side constraints and health concerns introduced by COVID-19 forced factory closures across Dhaka and Chittagong for much of April 2020.</p>
