David is a nonprofit communications leader with more than 25 years of experience harnessing the powers of language and narrative to fight for rights, equity, and development. He relishes the challenge of explaining IPA's work to the world.
Prior to joining IPA, David was head of communications for the Open Society Justice Initiative, where he wrote and edited reports on various human rights issues, launched websites, and collaboratively shaped and implemented communications and engagement strategies. He has also worked at People for the American Way, Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where he served as speechwriter to the president, and the Wallace Foundation, where as a grantmaker he supported adult literacy programs. He started his career as a technical assistance provider at the Hispanic Federation.
David holds a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University and a Master of Arts from New York University.
