Michelle Twali is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Peace & Recovery program at IPA and Princeton University. Her work focuses on intergroup conflict, structural violence, and conflict resolution, with particular attention towards the experiences of members of the victim group. Specifically, Michelle utilizes a multi-method, multi-level approach to understand the meaning that people derive from their experiences of collective violence, how these beliefs affect their attitudes and behaviors towards other groups, engagement in collective action, and support or opposition to policies. Michelle has also consulted on interventions aimed at conflict resolution, including a mass media intervention in Juba, South Sudan. Michelle has a PhD in Social Psychology from Clark University in Massachusetts, an M.Sc. in Developmental Psychology from University of Utah, and a B.A in Psychology and Political Science from the University of Ghana.
