Ana is a Post-doctoral Researcher at IPA Colombia and Universidad del Rosario. Previously, Ana worked as a researcher at the Social Science Center in Berlin. She uses field and lab-in-the-field experiments to understand the barriers that girls and women face in developing countries. Specifically, Ana is studying how increasing the political voice of women affects community outcomes, how transportation to school affects the schooling decision of girls, and how role models affect gender norms across generations. Ana is also interested in the ethical challenges that research staff faces while working in the field. Previously, Ana worked at IPA Uganda as a Research Associate managing projects in governance and gender. Ana has a Ph.D. in Economics from University NOVA of Lisbon, an M.Sc. in Economics from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics, and a B.Sc. in Economics from University Carlos III.
