On July 28, IPA's Regional Director for West Africa, Claudia Casarotto, gave a web-based training on impact evaluation methods in the context of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Initiative “Building forward better.” This initiative, led by FAO and funded by the Italian Cooperation, aims to address the loss of human capacity caused by fragility in Libya, Niger, and Mali. The initiative provides a comprehensive set of trainings on different aspects of natural resources management to policymakers and practitioners. IPA's training was attended by ten government officials and discussed key concepts in impact evaluation and the main methods for evaluating development programs, with a focus on randomized controlled trials (RCTs).
