On November 26th, Financial Inclusion Program (FIP) Manager, Nellie Moore, presented at the Alliance for Financial Inclusion (AFI) and Reserve Bank of Fiji’s Conference on Smart Policies for Green Financial Inclusion. She shared a synthesis of and relevant examples from the existing evidence on how financial services can build resilience to climate change, as well as knowledge gaps to prioritize for future research. Following the presentation, Nellie joined Zinta Zommers from Mercy Corps, Habiba Gitay from the World Bank, and Michael Hililan from the Reserve Bank of Vanuatu to discuss the practitioner and regulator experience funding and implementing financial inclusion policies to build resilience. The conference was attended by financial regulators, private sector actors, and members of civil society from 20 countries. The event led to the Nadi Action Agenda on Green Financial Inclusion, which included a call for more evidence on the impact of financial services on climate change resilience and mitigation. Learn more about the event on the AFI website.
