The Philippines Department of Education held its inaugural National Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Conference on June 20-22, 2023. Over 500 representatives from regional and district offices attended plenary discussions led by representatives from various government agencies and partner organizations, including IPA Philippines.

IPA Philippines Country Director Aftab Opel discussed the importance of evaluation in the education sector. Attendees also participated in several breakout sessions which focused on M&E initiatives of DepEd’s development and government partners.

Research Manager Rene Marlon Panti presented evidence of a cost-effective mobile math tutoring program implemented in partnership with DepEd and Research Associate Ana Christina Cruz shared key data collection and management strategies.
